Rules of Engagement: Part Two

Rules of engagment_ Part 1 (1).png

You've made it to part two of the rules of engagement– congratulations.

Here's part one, in case you need a refresher.

Now that the pleasantries are out of the way, let's take a look at the rules.

I will no longer give interviews unless the following conditions are met:

1. I reserve the right to review the written, audio, visual, or video story before publication.

2. I will discuss WHY I do the work I do; however, I will no longer talk about the night I was drugged.

If you want to know the gory details, it's been extensively covered elsewhere.

3. I reserve the right to submit edits of the story to ensure it maintains the integrity of the message I am giving.

4. If the author cannot agree to the proposed changes, I reserve the right to pull my interview entirely.

5. And lastly, a written acknowledgment of these conditions is required prior to the interview.

Listen, the world really doesn't need more interviews of me talking about something terrible that happened to me and how the person was never caught.

How I’ve learned, healed, and grown from the terrible moment is what’s important, not the terrible moment itself.
