It’s one of those days- the kind of day when the worst-case scenario becomes reality. But, all harrowing days—just like the average ones—come to an end, and it’s time to unwind. Armed with a favorite song and a platform to access it, we can put the disappointments of our day behind us.

In my Introduction to Digital Storytelling class, I was tasked to create an advertising campaign for a product. The deliverables required for the project were a one-minute commercial that told a story visually and an infographic with supporting data. I chose YouTube's streaming service as the product for my campaign.

More than ever, people all over the world watch YouTube over regular streaming services, and the go-to category may surprise you: music. 93% of the content streamed on YouTube are music videos. According to Brandwatch, “We watch over 1 billion hours of YouTube videos a day, more than Netflix and Facebook video combined.”

The ‘Mood By YouTube’ ad begins in the middle of a bad day but ends with a solo dance party (and a lighter vibe) with a little help from Depeche Mode’s Bizarre Love Triangle.
